Senior operations oversight, without the full-time hire.

In short: DocHelp provides ongoing operations management, remote practice management, interim managers and advisory retainers for medical centres in Melbourne and Australia-wide.

Ongoing operations and business management for medical centres — on site, remotely, or as an advisory retainer. The experienced operator your practice manager calls, the numbers your owner understands, and the quality safety net that keeps the practice compliant and profitable between engagements.

Who this is for

Practices that need experience, not headcount.

Most medical centres cannot justify a full-time operations manager, and most practice managers have nobody senior to call. The owner is a doctor with a full list. So decisions get made late, compliance drifts, revenue leaks, and small problems become a rescue.

Three ways to engage

Choose the level of involvement your practice needs.

Retainer

Operations retainer

A set number of days or hours a month. We attend management meetings, review the numbers, audit quality and compliance, and support the practice manager on everything in between.

Remote

Remote practice management

We run the administrative side — rosters, staffing, billing review, supplier orders, software administration, recalls and reporting — remotely, with on-site visits as needed.

Advisory

Advisory

For owners who run their own practice and want an operator to think with: growth, doctor arrangements, a second site, or preparing to buy or sell.

What a month looks like

Steady, predictable oversight.

i.

Week 1

Monthly numbers reviewed with the owner and practice manager. Billing, utilisation, recalls, doctor productivity, costs. Actions agreed.

ii.

Week 2

Management meeting attended and minuted. HR, doctor and supplier matters progressed. Escalations handled.

iii.

Week 3

Quality and compliance audit — a rotating slice of the Standards each month so nothing is a surprise at assessment.

iv.

Week 4

Documentation, rosters and systems updated. Next month planned. The practice manager is coached, not replaced.

Common questions

Questions practice owners actually ask.

What does an operations retainer include?

Senior operational oversight on a monthly basis: attending and minuting management meetings, reviewing the monthly numbers with the owner, supporting the practice manager on escalations, HR and doctor matters, running quality and compliance audits, keeping documentation current, and being the person the practice manager calls when something goes wrong. Scope and hours are agreed up front.

Can you manage a practice remotely?

Yes. Rosters, staffing, doctor pays, billing review, supplier orders, HotDoc and Best Practice administration, recalls, patient communication and reporting all run remotely. Our founder manages centres this way today. On-site visits are added where the practice needs them.

What is the difference between advisory and management?

Advisory is for owners who run the practice themselves but want an experienced operator to think with — strategy, growth, doctor arrangements, buying or selling, whether to build a second site. Management is when we run part of the practice for you. Many clients start with one and move to the other.

Do you provide interim operations managers?

Yes — between hires, during leave, or through a rescue. Our senior practice managers step in on site or remotely and hand over to the permanent appointment once they are trained.

Can you help us buy, sell or value a practice?

We are not accountants, lawyers or licensed business brokers and we don’t give financial advice. What we do bring is operator judgement: what a well-run practice’s numbers look like, what buyers pay premiums for, and what to fix before you sell. We have sold two of our own and we work alongside your accountant and lawyer.
