What this calculator includes: the tripled bulk billing incentive items on eligible consultations (75870–75876), the base bulk billing incentive items on other bulk-billed unreferred services (10990, 10991, 75855–75858), and the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program payment of 12.5 per cent. What it does not include: the after-hours incentive items (10992, 75872), the MyMedicare-linked tripled items for longer telehealth (75880–75885), the Practice Incentives Program (PIP) and Workforce Incentive Program (WIP), which are separate practice-level programs with their own rules. Those can add materially to a practice’s income and belong in a full audit, not a browser estimate.
Since 1 November 2025 a GP can claim a bulk billing incentive item whenever they bulk bill any Medicare-eligible patient for an eligible service. For Level B, C, D and E face-to-face consultations (and Level B telehealth) the tripled item applies — 75870 in metropolitan MM1, rising through the Modified Monash areas. For other bulk-billed unreferred services — Level A, chronic condition plans, health assessments, minor procedures — the base incentive applies (10990, 10991, 75855–75858). Separately, a practice that bulk bills every eligible service for every eligible patient and is registered in MyMedicare can join the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program and receive 12.5 per cent of the MBS benefit from those services, paid quarterly and split equally with providers.
The decision most owners face is whether the incentives plus 12.5 per cent beat their private fee income. This tool gives the incentive side. Our mixed-billing simulator gives the other side, and the BBPIP explainer covers the rules.

The tripled incentive items that attach to bulk-billed Level B, C, D and E face-to-face consultations and Level B telehealth (75870 MM1, 75871 MM2, 75873 MM3–4, 75874 MM5, 75875 MM6, 75876 MM7), and the base incentive items for other bulk-billed unreferred services (10990 MM1, 10991 MM2, 75855 MM3–4, 75856 MM5, 75857 MM6, 75858 MM7). Every rate is pre-filled with the 85 per cent benefit amount from the item's own MBS Online page, verified at 1 July 2026 — the tripled items 75870, 75871 and 75873–75876 and the base items 10990, 10991 and 75855–75858, across all Modified Monash areas. The rate fields stay editable because MBS fees index every 1 July.
